Necessary documents for air travel, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, are a passport and, in some cases, another certificate or permit. An identity card is not a sufficient document to fly. A number of conditions apply to the passport that must be met in order to pass airport and customs control without any problems. If you are traveling to countries outside the EEA (European Economic Area), your passport must be valid for a minimum of 3 months after your planned return. In some cases (eg if you travel to Kenya or Egypt), at least 6 months after the date of return. If you have paid for the ticket but it was found at the check that your passport is damaged or about to expire, you will not be allowed to enter the plane. Unfortunately, you won’t even get a refund of the ticket you paid for.
Visa requirements
The visa regime of any country you want to travel to is the first thing you need to check before planning and buying a plane ticket. In addition to the visa, it would be good to check the conditions of transit in the countries. This refers to the countries in which you may change on the way to your desired destination. In some countries, a transit visa is required for citizens of certain countries (eg for the United States of America or Great Britain).
Check-in and electronic ticket
You must have the code or reservation number, i.e. electronic tickets, when you arrive at the airport. This can facilitate the process of applying for a flight or check-in. Before arriving at the terminal, if you are driving your own car, you need to reserve a parking lot near the airport . If you do not have a reservation number, there may be a problem in matching the passenger’s last name from the passenger list with the last name in the travel document. If this happens you will probably be banned from the plane.
Hotel accommodation and insurance policy
If you have booked a hotel, you should definitely print a voucher with a confirmed reservation. That’s enough proof to get a key to your room. Also, if you have paid for travel insurance, you must have a policy or certificate with you that proves it. If you don’t have insurance, check how to choose the right policy.
Additional documents for air travel
If you are flying to certain destinations that require additional documents, you need to inform yourself beforehand. then prepare everything you need before traveling by plane. This refers to certain circumstances that require passengers to bring certain documents with them to prove that nothing prevents them from entering the plane. These are usually vaccination certificates (if vaccinations are required for the country you are traveling to or in which you are transiting). then there are also medical certificates that prove that the passenger is able to travel under certain circumstances. This refers to pregnant women who need a doctor’s certificate from the 28th. weeks of pregnancy.
If you have any metal implants that could be revealed when passing through the detector barrier at the airport itself, you must explain it with the certificate. The confirmation is also necessary for the transportation of an unaccompanied child by the airline. It means if the child is traveling without a parent or guardian. You will also need a certificate from a veterinarian if you are traveling with a pet, as well as a passport for the animal. When it comes to weapons, they fall into special categories and require a number of necessary permits for their transportation.
